Introduction
Who is messing up my computer?
Why a security course in KistaIP?
- Because you want keep your computer and data safe while you
surf.
- Because you do not want anyone else to use your identity in
Internet.
- Because you want to know how difficult is to break into computer
systems.
- Because you want to be able to prevent and detect attacks to
your system.
Objectives
This workshop aims to deliver broad overview of the security aspects
of computer networks, so at the end of the workshop you should be
able to:
- make better decisions about network security,
- keep intruders away from your files,
- find updated information about security flaws,
- know who is making those strange sounds inside of your computer.

Workshop and registration
Workshop format: The workshop is designed in four sessions during
the second and third week of May. The workshop includes reading
material and practical exercices to be done in KistaIP network for
those who have futher interest. After the last session (Friday evening)
a "closing event" barbaque is planned.
Workshop place: Depending on the number of people attending. Somewhere
in Kista.
About Alberto Escudero: is graduate student at the Institution
of Microelectronics and Information Technology. (formerly Teleinformatics).
KTH. Sweden. As a researcher in IMIT, Alberto is currently focusing
on location privacy in mobile internetworking and privacy protection
of personal information and over the last year was involved in the
IT University - Kista Wireless Network, FlyingLinux.NET and The
Big Brother ``storebror'' Project.
